Seven Horses draws inspiration from the seven horses that pull the chariot of Surya, the Hindu Sun God. In Indian philosophy, they symbolise the seven colours of light, the seven days of the week, the seven chakras, and the eternal passage of time. Together, they represent energy, wisdom, vitality, and the continuous movement of life. Rather than illustrating this mythology literally, Harsh Hingu reinterprets its symbolic essence through abstraction, exploring how rhythm, colour, and form can communicate movement and transformation.

Rather than beginning with defined figures, Harsh allowed the horses to emerge intuitively through repeated mark-making and observation. Working with acrylic on canvas, bold black lines, geometric forms, and a palette of ochres, reds, oranges, earthy greens, and blue, he developed a visual language that balances structure with spontaneity. Each composition evolved organically, allowing movement to guide the painting rather than a predetermined image.

By reducing the horses into cubist-inspired forms, Harsh shifts the focus from narrative to experience.
